FINAL day of the Greek Fashion Week REPORT By Filep Motwary For Diane Pernet
Dear Diane,
It is funny how fast days run when you are having fun, isn’t it?? Today was the last day of the fashion week.
The defiles started with my ex colleague from collage, Katerina Alexandrakis who is actually one of the most beautiful Greek beauties I’ve ever met. Alexandrakis chose her boyfriends music, who is a composer for her show and also the assistance of a group of dancers...It reminded me of a ceremony, with all these sound’s , bodies moving and models walking through them like IRON MAIDENS.
Everything was completely different from what I had seen already, the past three days. The bad thing is that I think that the choreography people were not wearing Katerinas clothes, but I am not sure ..I ‘ll
Have to check that out.
Later followed the show by NIKOS AND TAKIS. The greatest thing I saw, was the video they played before the show started, with African tribes and the music they played among it. I didn’t like the show really but I respect them as designers who have worked for so many years and contributed for the Greek Fashion week establishment.
NIKOLAS,
FANNY VOUTSELA followed and later Kathy Heyndels who was inspired by MINOAN CRETE. The clothes were elegant with floral and leopard prints, long kaftans as well as luxurious short pants and bateau tops with golden pendants hanging from the model’s necks.
During all the shows I was sitting between AKIKO ICHIKAWA from Japanese BAZAAR and KANAKO ICHIKAWA from WWD. We had great fun and I consider them as friends now. They are great. I was begging them to follow me later at artist NIKOLAS PAVLIDES exhibition.
Designer ERIFILI NIKOLOPOULOU was due to start at . It was the first time for me to attend one of her shows. I
knew her work though and some years ago, when I was working for designer LOUKIA, ERIFILI was one of the contestants in the same category as we were for the GREEK Fashion awards. The shows music was by COSTAS ARGYRIOU and the shoes by Vassilis Zoulias. It was a good show with really strong outfits and great silhouettes. I like the color palette which was beige, tweety yellow, mint blue. ALL the shoes were yellow. At the show I met again with Bienale’s shoe designer STATHIS SAMANTAS and he gave me some pictures from his participation. He is such a sweet guy. Sometimes during the shows I would click an eye to frirnd/journalist Elis Kiss who was really tired after working so hard all these days.
The fashion week ended with designer Andria Thessaloniki Andria handsome, don’t you think Diane?
I had a quick drink and I rushed with my friends towards PSIRRI area, to LAB gallery where friend NIKOLAS PAVLIDIS was showing his new work called SOLDIER SAILOR. What I like about him is his fascination with all kinds of toys.
Even as a grown up man he managed to transfer a value which belongs to the children, to something that totally belongs to the adults. I am always amazed by Nikolas aka NINO. Many guests were there.. Nicholas Georgiou,
the uber stylist in charge for FASHION shows as PARTHENIS, LOUKIA, YIORGOS ELEFTHERIADES and ERIFILI NIKOLOPOULOU. Also I saw musician SKY SAXON and Algerian designer SIRAN,
video artist Katerina Kana and model YIANNIS LAGONAS.
The cosmopolitan drink didn’t help me to stay there long...I was so tired already.I am happy although I had such a full day. Unfortunately Diane I didn’t see Serge Carreira from Galerie Lafayette. I was informed that he returned to Paris Also today I am sending you a picture of EVA H as I saw her at DEUX HOMMES show on Friday the 21st Oct.
She looked gorgeous.
