Imagine they had 2,600 films to screen in order to preselect the 93 that are in the competition. My choice from tonights screening goes to Vegtables.by Javier Ortega. Here is the outside of the venue. Let's say one of the 4 venues.

Day 1 Zinebi and my first trip to Bilbao and a visit to Persuade with Rosa and Paolo

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I'm in BIlbao for the ZINEBI documentary film festival where You Wear it Well will screen at the Guggenheim Museum on Thursday night.
Zibebi
The festival events begin tonight at l9h30 so after checking into my hotel I went to visit Persuade, 'the' shop in Bilbao where you absolutely want to visit. I met Rosa in London at the Fashion Fringe and today I met her again with her partner Paolo. They took me all over Bilbao and out to lunch. I fell in love with the gold chair designed by Christian Astuguevieille, it reminds me of a tree dipped in gold wearing a skirt. Anyway I would be happy to have it in my home.

More on TOkyo Fashion Week presentation in LONDON

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Last week when I was in London I attended the Tokyo Fashion Week presentation by Andrew Tucker. Since the images that I took from the projection screen were less than stellar, I requested that they send me a selection of two of the designers - Merci Beaucoup and Ne-net.

I also liked the trend in Tokyo of best friends dressing like each other. Shoji was telling me that it used to be mother's and daughters dressing alike which meant that the mother's dressed like their teenage daughters and not the other way around.

Julien Bertic reports in from Kuala Lumpur Day 3

Dear Diane, Dear Shaded Viewers,

Day_3_klp1000888_a

The main event today is the first Islamic Fashion Show. As most of the celebrities from Malaysia and Indonesia were seated in the first 4 rows, I was on the fifth and could not take good pictures.

But you can have some outfits on mannequin as well as the arrival of VIP's and the standing queue. The founder Raja Rezza Shah, told me that the next edition should take place in Jakarta the first islamic country in the world by its number of inhabitants. Of course Arab countries customers are also targeted. Inchallah

Currency 3 + Frank Bruggeman at OWN, Brussels

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Flowers8_1

When I was at the Light book fair the other week to visit my friends from USELESS I met Sico Carlier of the international magazine CURRENCY. When he was visiting his hometown, Brussels he asked the floral aritist, Frank Bruggeman, to make an installation in the OWN store. Frank is most renowned in terms of fashion for the flowers he is always doing forV&R, but he also did a piece for Bernhard W. once, and a dancefloor bouquet for the Butt-crew.
Here you can see a beautiful piece he made in that spacious store in downtown Bruxelles, OWN, it will stay up (and fall apart) and all the orchids will start to flower in the coming month.

Frank designed a special installation for "Blue/Mixed Nature" for OWN shop that included a copy of the magazine.

Mini Paris screening of You Wear it Well for IFM post graduate students only and You Wear it Well travels to SPAIN - first stop ZINEBI festival and then on to MID_E for the first two days of December.

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Lrlogogoldneg_6

Yesterday I gave a lecture at IFM post graduate cycle in Paris and decided to screen the You Wear it Well festival for them. As usual, I wanted to have them cast their votes. Instead of one winner there was a tie between these 4:

VPL-Marcelo Krasilcic (Brazil/USA) 2”45’,
Starring - by Jeremy Scott (US) 15”
19 Cafes Maison Martin Margiela (FR) 9”
Diversity is a Form of Wealth - SHOWstudio film by Nigel Buck, part of 'Editing Fashion' -footage captured by Nick Knight 2005 Courtesy of SHOWstudio 5”

YOU WEAR IT WELL travels to Spain for one week, Dino Dinco and I will be at two festivals ZINEBI in Bilbao (27 Nov - 30 Nov with our screening 21h 30th ) and MID_E in San Sebastien 1 Dec - 3 Dec (screenings Dec 1st and 2nd). If you live around either of these two locations, we would love to see you there.
