Thank you very much for postng this letter from the elusive Mr Pearl. He is such a treasured inspiration to all us corset-makers. He's such a wonderful and charming man, and hope that I can be as good at making corsets as him one day - I'll keep holding my breath.

Dear Diane,
I wondered if you could pass me on details so i can write to Mr Pearl? He's probably really busy but its worth a try.
I am from Scotland and im just starting out in corsetry, i have been making corsets and designing patterns for about 2 years and feel like the corset business is not very friendly. No-one wants to help and if no-one helps all these amazing corsets are going to be lost. We new and young designers need help and guidance not shunned and thought of as copy cats. I am really trying to make my corsets my own.

I am a third year journalism student studying in Surrey and am currently working on my final major project - a highbrow glossy publication with the superseding theme of sex within fashion. I am exploring the links between the two subjects through feature articles and photoshoots; demonstrating the illustrious eroticism of clothing and the sexualisation of fashion in general.
I would love the opportunity to interview yourself as one of the most magnificent corset makers (and wearers) of our generation. I would take up but 10 minutes of your precious time, and am happy to speak to you over the telephone if you would perhaps prefer this to a face-to-face meeting?
