Naturally everyone has a winner in mind ...and arguably personal taste, perceptions, finesse, aesthetics , deep understanding and subconscious affinities with the style ,etc ..etc..etc... will arguably influence the who and why should be the winner....but to be fair to everyone who has being fairly chosen in order to be able to figure on the list as one of the possible winners to take the ‘Golden Fleece ‘ I will say ...You all definitely deserve it....and as the ABBA's song goes....." The winner takes it all ' as fate so wishes......

Good luck to everyone have a glorious and totally cool time !...and by anticipating the outcome I would only like to add :

>> CONGRATULATIONS and MAKE THE BEST OF IT , YOUR HARD AND DEDICATED WORK HAS PAYED OFF ONCE AGAIN...<<<

Above anything else, I find it important to take into account if the investment can actually help make a difference between a mere, original vision and an end product that does eventually does it justice.

I find that good quality fabrics and manufacturing are fundamental for an original design concept - It's always a pain to see a young designer not being able to have his or her ideas made in the desired quality, in more than one case did that have to do with budgeting issues.

I think with Michelle Lamy as a backing force for his own line and all the media attention on his side after so short, it would be very unnessecary to hand it over to Gareth Pugh... He'll certainly do the 'step up' anyway... on top of that I'd find it very dangerous if he was to grow too soon, too fast. I think he is very good at producing 'pieces' that work well editorially, whereas his sellable clothes often end up looking a lot less thought-out. To have these clothes made by a company like Olmar & Mirta, who has the knowledge and capability to produce and help distribute a line is a luxury that VERY few young designers will ever have when it comes to start your own business.

I find that Marios Schwab's aesthetic has the depth, the originality and maturity that is necessary to take his cleverly constructed, conceptual approach one step upwards, from the theory of an independent, emerging designer to a believable, high-end collection with an edge.

I love love love Marios and Ann Sofie Back! How could you ever decide? I guess I'd have to give it to BLESS. BLESS is revolutionary. There are just no buts about it.

I guess it depends on which criterias you include in your choice. If it's only about fashion, I guess Pugh and bless are my favourites. If it's about human qualities, professionalism and commitment in this competition, and for having interviewed (almost) all of them with you Diane for this event, I would say Schwab, Pugh, Batista, Back and Ploier all deserve it.

yeah as much as i love and respect each and every contender,i really think this year belongs to ines and desiree. they've been slogging about for some years now and they've also been at their strongest in the most recent.

utterly schwab. his last collection was stunning, and I feel he is the most progressive and indeed best designer working in london, and the only one I can imagine making a serious impact on the international stage.

I am horrendously biased, but I know many many people far more significant than me who share my opinion.

he really deserves it, and of all the contestants I'm most interested to see what he would do with it. I'm sure it would be very special.

love,
Alex.
