Last Stop before the Airport - A visit to Annika's Hembageri

Annika's Hembageri Odengatan 43 113 51 Stockholm Tel: 08 673 47 54 - Annika's bakery received the award for the best 'semla' in Stockholm.
Dear Shaded Viewers,
Last night at the Helena Horstedt show I ran into the beautiful singer/artist/model Ania Chorabik and she asked me if I liked sweets and then told me about her mother's bakery where the King of Sweden buys his cookies and about the traditional Semla cakes. Immediately I asked Nicolas Richard to arrange that my driver would pass by the bakery on route to the airport.
Ania travels the planet for her music, modeling and her art but she happened to be in Stockholm and was helping her mom out today. She had prepared an amazing package for me.

Traditional "Semla" and "Karlsbader semla"

The cinnamon roll is for Susie Bubble next to it is the Princess cake
So, if you see me looking a little rounder, please don't tell me, I know.

My Last Day in Stockholm
Dear Shaded Viewers,
My first stop this morning was the +46 tradeshow where I had a few appointments and then watched the shows of Rickard Lindqvist and Pudel.

Rickard Lindqvist, the illustrated man

Kim Jones had a series of interviews, everyone wanted to know about his new collaboration with the British luxury brand, Dunhill. What some could not understand is that he is doing exactly what he has dreamed of doing since he started designing. He always wanted to be the creative director for a luxury brand. He's happy, he's bought a house, life is cool. He's up for the job and he is going to create great things. +46's Tomas Rajnai

Nicolas Richard and Sandra Backlund and Martin, Gori and Tomas at +46

Ania Chorabik, the beautiful multi-talented artist, model and singer wearing a shirt that she hand painted. Ania is also ASVONF's Swedish contributor. Her last entry was when she was performing in Japan, google her name here, you will enjoy the posts.
I love Helena Horstedt's work but I did not think it was the best move to put all of the international press in the 5th row where we could hardly see anything much less take photos. The models moved so fast it is basically one big blur.

Helena Horstedt and ex-model turned stylist

Take Sato from Monocle and Robbie Spencer from Dazed and Confused kitted out in Acne. My last full day in Mr. Pearl's monkey coat.
You Wear it Well 2 returned to Stockholm for the 2nd edition and another warm welcome, thank you +46.

Nicolas Richard and a director for edition 3 of YWITW and Nico and +46's Kristian
The last person I saw tonight was Sandra Backlund, full of good energy after her very successful first show.
Tomorrow Paris and then a very quick trip to NYC.

Christian Andersson - I Did It Just The Same at the Galerie Nordenhake Stockholm

1984 preents the 1950 Olle Eksell designed Swedish publication of George Orwell's 1984 in a state of flux. The semi-transparent book illustrates how history changes fiction which in turn affects reality and so on. Memo is the gost of an old xerox machine in a deserted office cubicle. The traces of its presence are the continued splashes of leaked light on the walls surrounding where it once stood.
.
The exhibition presents a trinity of works that interrelate with one another, simultaneously dealing with themes of evidence, duplication and transformation.

John Coplans documented a body of work using his own aging body.
The driver that took me back to my hotel was called ODD he was laughing because the car was billed to Odd Projects. It was also the first person that I ever met called Odd.

First day Stockholm Fashion Week
Dear Shaded Viewers,
Before coming to Stockholm, Miguel and I had our last cup of very hot tea from my new beautiful tea pot on a stand. I gave Miguel one of the five on the planet DEAD DP t-shirts. I thought that it looked a lot better on him than hanging in my closet.

I am now staying at the lovely Berns Hotel in Stockholm where the wonderful gift from the hotel was Bois du Palais room fragrance BYREDO Parfums created by Ben Gorham. Ben takes care of me while in Stockholm. All of the body products at Berns are also BYREDO.

Lotta from Stockholm Fashion Week with Ben Gorham, BYREDO PARFUMS
Acne
Acne showed their men's and women's collections. Men had a 1950's inspiration and women were more into ruffle mini skirts and great platform shoes and boots. One pair was silver and sparkling like in the Wizard of Oz.

Sandra Backlund

Stockholm's most beloved TV presenter and Christine Prising and Ingmari Lamy

Rodebjer
Last show of the day was Filippa K at the Opera
After the Filippa K show Mr. BYREDO PARFUMS, Ben Gorham walked me to the Berns Hotel and I asked him to pose by one of the sponsors Husqvarna (Electrolux). Before one of the shows earlier in the day, the sponsor had asked Ben to leave his coat with them so they could freshen it up so I thought he could do a little testimonial. He's wearing the coat.

Kim Jones is the new creative director of Dunhill
Dear Shaded Viewers,
The British luxury brand Dunhill best known for it's classic menswear, leather goods and time pieces has announced that Kim Jones will be their new creative director.
Kim Jones sent me an e mail today to say that he will be concentrating all of his efforts on this project for the time being and will only resume his own brand when and if he feels the time is right. Working for a luxury brand as the creative director is something that he's always dreamed to do.
Congratulations to both Kim and Dunhill. Kim will be with me in Stockholm tomorrow for +46.
Later,
Diane
