last day in London and a visit to the Central Saint Martins show
Dear Shaded Viewers,

Imran Amed of Business of Fashion
Lately I seem to be living the game of six degrees of separation. About a week ago Imran Amed of Business of Fashion posted a film that interested me on his site. It was by James Killough, I asked Imran for James contact not recognizing the name for some odd reason. I wrote to James only to discover that we knew each other from the 80's in NYC. We all met at the film festival If Looks Could Kill that Marketa Uhlirova curates. The Rat was a silent film from the 20's complete with a piano player and dancing girls. Later he introduced us to his muse, the director of photography Rain Li and we all went to dinner.

James Killough of Pure Film
James is currently in production with his feature film "Hatter" . HATTER (feature, 2008): In an interview with Matt Hatter, the world’s
greatest fashion designer, journalist Alice Allyson reveals that she has
the goods on him. She cannot be allowed to live.
James' beautiful roommate is the director of photography, Rain Li. Not only is Rain Li the DP on "Hatter" but she was recognized by Hollywood Reporter magazine as one of the three most talented cinematographers under age 35, she is 25... In addition Rain was also the DP on Gus Van Sant's Paranoid Park, Gael Garcia Bernal's 8, Gael directed it, (Segment - Letter to the Father), DP on Christopher Doyle's film Warsaw Dark. You might know Christopher Doyle as the DP for all of Wong Kar Wai's films... You can visit the websites of both James and Rain for more details. To make it brief, dinner was great and breakfast even better. I got to see Sweet Pea by Rain Li and she will submit the short film for the third edition of You Wear it Well. I went to their apartment and watched the film Sweet Pea and also the film that Rain made for Dries Van Noten several years ago. Then Imran walked me over to my friend Mei Hui's shop Victim where we met up with my other friend Elaine Neocleous of Calliope and then Jean Pierre Braganza passed by to take me to lunch at the Rose Cafe before with Levy Palmer before we all headed over to the Central Saint Martins undergraduate show. Unfortunately we missed the first 4 designers.

Martin and Mei Hui and Jean Pierre Braganza
Jean Pierre Braganza awarded the prize to the winners, first prize went to Alithia Spuri-Zampetti, who made exaggerated collars that were laser cut and illustrated on body conscious clothes.
The jury included Andrew Davis, designer Bora Aksu and The Sunday Times' Colin McDowell.
There were two runners up: Rachel Chan for her beautifully embellished and bejewelled knits
and the Second runner-up went to Xiao Xaio Dong for his Bauhaus looking men's wear.

Xiao Xaio Dong and Matthew Harding

Craig Lawrence and Vega Zaishi Wan

Maki Nakamura and David Swetman
After the show I met up with Robb Young before going to the opening for Wolfgang Tillmans.

Liya Cheng and back at the AnDAZ with Robb Young, Jean Pierre Braganza and Levy Palmer
Off to dinner at Siam Central with friends.

James Killough of Pure Film
If you are into tattoos the man for you in London is Xed LeHead from into You in London. James says you go there and the guy gets inspired, you leave it up to him, could sound dangerous but obviously not.
Later,
Diane>

Nice one staying at the Andaz as well. Checking out the free minibar/wifi and REN goodies!
Good for you!

Rain's worked with Gael GB?I'm so jealous!Actually, they would make a v.cute couple, if she weren't already spoken for.Diane, I seriously think you should move here, Paris has kept you too long.
