A catwalk’s worth of Anna Wintours in crimson lipstick was a truly fabulous way for Jesus del Pozo to showcase his new collection. What higher honor can a designer have than to see his clothes on the best dressed woman in the world? Only La Wintour knows if he lived up to her standards, but this fashionista rather liked his diaphanous dresses with their insouciant slouchiness, low draped backs and demure necklines. Like most males, he wants women to keep wearing skinny black trousers next season, teaming his with loose, sparkly chiffon for the warm weather. He showed mercy on suffocated pins with breezy, pleated palazzo pants in gleaming gold linen. Beautiful, delicate dresses of silken fringing appeared in more metallic shades.

The del Pozo woman doesn’t flaunt her figure but is partial to a strategically translucent fabric and is fond of exposing the shoulders, particularly in yacht-friendly sea green party dresses. Not that Anna would expose her bob to a maritime breeze but perhaps that’s why the models had lost their Wintour wigs by the show’s end: there is but one woman that can maintain that hair.
