Closing ceremony at the 50th edition of Zinebi in Bilbao
Dear Shaded Viewers,
Rossy de Palma and Richard Lester
giving out the silver medal for fiction, Director Thom Andersen in the background waiting to give out the gold medal for fiction award.
After the ceremony Rosa, Persuade took Antoine and I to a lovely dinner. So ends our trip to Bilbao, later this afternoon we will go back to Paris. The Guggenheim Museum is amazing, their screening room probably one of the best in the world. Persuade is an amazing shop filled with passion and love. It's one of those places that makes you want to dip into your pocket and buy something. We love Rosa, we love Persuade.
Later, Diane

Last full day in Bilbao for Zinebi Film Festival
Dear Shaded Viewers,
We decided to go to the Museum of Fine Arts and when we entered the first person we saw was Rossy de Palma being interviewed about her new perfume, Eau de Protection. It is like a talisman for the skin. It is an incantation to a powerful and mysterious witch's rose. Rossy is as cool and confident as her perfume is enchanting. I've been thinking about the next Film issue of ZOO and now it's clear who I would like to interview. We had met briefly a few years ago in Madrid and then a few years ago in Zurich. When I saw her she gave me a warm greeting and we spoke a little about the idea of her perfume which is about the rose, the throns, the roots, blood and mud. www.etatlibredorange.com.
Rossy de Palma
Rossy is the master of ceremonies tonight for the closure of the Zinebi festival.
Everyone wanted a photo with Rossy and she was the coolest, but we already knew that.

Bryanboy Reports From Malaysia International Fashion Week - Part 1
Dear Shaded Viewers,
Greetings! I'm currently here in Kuala Lumpur for the 2008 Malaysia International Fashion Week. It's a fun, festive event held at the newly-opened The Gardens Hotel in the Mid Valley area of KL.
In addition to Malaysian talent, a variety of Asian designers from Thailand to Russia presented their collections since Wednesday. Today is the last day of the shows. I found it very interesting how Malaysia is positioning themselves to be THE hub in showcasing Asian fashion.
Here in KL, I made a friend with Pakistani photographer Tapu Javeri. He's one of the sweetest men I've ever met. Papi Tapu was very generous and kind to provide me runway shots -- photos that are much better than the ones I took using my own camera.
By the way, I love you Sonny V but it doesn't hurt for a boy to have two bearded daddies, especially one who doesn't smoke, drink and whose only vice is dancing to the Spice Girls. :-)
Moving along... the ceremonies started with a spectacular dance show.
Some of the designers who showed their collections include Ding Yong from China
India's Jattin Kochhar
and my compatriot from the Philippines, Joey Samson
Later,
Bryanboy
