Sonia Rykiel celebrates her 40 years at the Museum Arts Deco tonight

Sonia Rykiel is celebrating her 40 years in business with her first retrospective at Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris. THe exhibition was curated by Olivier Saillard with the mise en scene by Pierre Beucler and Jean Christophe Poggioli. When you walk past the dark sparkling curtains you hear the soft, sexy voice of Sonia Rykiel. Designers created one off pieces interpreting the atmosphere of Sonia Rykiel. My two favorite ones were by Maison Martin Margiela and Jean Charles Castelbajac. The exhibit will be up until 19 April.

Serge Carreira, Prada, Liz Goldwyn, she wrote the introduction to the book on Sonia that is being sold in addition to the catalogue. She also managed to have strippers at the LACMA and Vassilis Zidianakis ATOPOS, the curator of RRRIPP, currently at MUDAM in Luxembourg and coming soon to Antwerp, it is the next exhibition following MMM.
