Izhar Patkin and a visit today to the Sèvres Ceramics Museum where his Madonna and Child is being made
Dear Shaded Viewers,
My friend Izhar Patkin came to Paris a few days ago to visit the Chateau Sevres where a piece of his art is being produced. It's a very long process and even longer because he uses techniques from the 18th century. The historic porcelain house in Sevres commissions contemporary artists to work in porcelain.
The porcelain is far from dry, could take another six months before the next big step. I will keep you posted.
Later,
Diane

Marco de Rivera reports on Christian Dior
Bon Marche is holding an exhibition on Christian Dior in the form of a journey punctuated with the signature objects of DIOR. Blown-up for the exhibition: An oval topped by a node and a medallion chair Fontanges evokes the adoration of the eighteenth century.
The golden bottle of J'Adore references the irresistible silhouette of Charlize Theron and a compact adorned with the famous caning pattern presents a film on Beauty.
The exhibition also has multiple videos and a virtual book tracing the history of this legendary house through feedback from its two main actors, Christian Dior and John Galliano.
To walk to dream forever ...
