Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,

A Christmas Tree could turn anything into a fairy tale: its sharp magical needles would prick our curious fingers and lull our minds to a balmy, beneficial dream. Memories would warm up by the jiggling, flickering lights adorning its familiar shape with glares of red, green and gold, and suddenly we would remember with intimate, melancholic pride, a childhood even sweeter that it used to be. We would wake up with our hearts softened, an innocent, long-forgotten anticipation, the impeding wish to make amends to those we hurt during the year, and the sincere aim to share our just regained Christmas spirit with as many people as possible. And sometimes, if we are motivated enough, reality could become just as delightful as dreams.

The ‘Association Les Sapins de Noël des Créateurs’ certainly is, and for some 16 years now has kept this purpose in mind while inviting the brightest personalities from the worlds of fashion, architecture and design to create their own unique Christmas trees, works of art blending style and evergreen tradition to be auctioned for a good cause at a very special charity event in Paris.

This year all designer trees will be on show at the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild from 2 to 7 December, and the proceeds will be donated to the ‘Association pour la Vie-Espoir contre le Cancer (A.V.E.C.)’ in order to fight cancer in children, a little miracle currently happening thanks to each one of your donations.
