Dites-Le avec Dalí - Text & Images by Aisling Connell




Dear Shaded Viewers,

13 rue des Frigos in Paris' 13th district has a remarkable likeness to the infamous Kunsthaus Tacheles in Berlin, that is, until you arrive on the third floor. The baroque style loft is worlds apart from the graffiti covered exterior and proved the perfect location for Dites-le avec Dalí this evening. Paolo worked with Federico Fellini for a while and his loft shows the Fellini film atmosphere.

The oppulent surroundings were lit by candlelight and the atmosphere was slightly surreal. The INA have launched an online archive of Dalí audio-visual footage and the event was celebrating this. You can browse through the archive here:

Mathieu Gallet – Ina's President and Paolo Calia, host of the Venue


ORLAN ,  Director Paolo Calia and Art historian Raphael Cuir . ORLAN has known Paolo for the past 30 years, they used to hang out together but but this is her first visit to his loft.

Dalí style moustaches were the must have accessory of the evening.

Location -  the loft of Paolo Calia, film set designer and photographer.
